We set sail in the morning from Marmaris towards Fethiye. A blue cruise on the Turkish Riveria is popular for good reason: warm, turquoise waters; a sunny, dry, warm climate; smooth seas, bright green yet arid coastline; ancient ruins; interesting villages; and of course a party spirit.
We had stayed up late the night before drinking with our new German friends. The boat captain had to restock our supply of Efes beer before we left in the morning. The sound of the engine awoke us in the late morning as we departed. Leisurely all the swimsuit and beach wear clad guests made it up to the main deck for a Turkish Breakfast.
The first day on our trip our main stop was a tour down a river to see some hillside temples and visit a mud bath spa. In the evening our boat sheltered on a cove where we swam in the sunset.
That evening our chef cooked some fresh fish and we drank late into the night with our new German friends. The day our cruise included swimming and snorkeling in a cove with some old ruins called Cleopatra’s Bath. Who knows if she ever actually visited there, but it was interesting regardless. We moored in a smooth cove with water a color unlike none I had seen before that night.
