Jerome Arizona
I took this photo in the town of what appears to be a subterranean floor in the cliffside town of Jerome, Arizona.
In the late 1800’s, miners built Jerome on the side of a cliff in the Black Hills. The original brick buildings crumble in various degrees of upkeep. The only street through residential parts of town is a 2-lane switchback. The Wikipedia page on Jerome is worth a read.
This photo is likely the basement of a residence that has a front door on the street above.
It’s an interesting day trip between Sedona, Phoenix, and Prescott. There are cute shops and restaurants to explore, and the view of the valley below is amazing.
